My former vehicle had a CD player and I was able to utilize a phone holder that anchored itself in the CD slot. That tells you something about the age of that car. My new car lacks a CD player, which necessitated my finding a new phone holder of some type. Not wanting a suction-type holder, I chose this one. It was extremely easy to install into one of my cup holders in the center console and the flexible neck allowed me to make my phone placement exactly where I needed it to be. The neck is flexible enough to move the phone to a different position if needed, but not so flexible that it moves itself from where you last positioned it. In other words, wherever you put it the last time, it will stay there until you decide to move it. It will not have moved from that position after you remove your phone and return for your next excursion. I expect to continue to use this product indefinitely. The only down side is that my cup holder is pretty low and even the 13-inch neck doesn't place my phone as high up as it would be if it were mounted to the dash in some way. That's not the fault of this product, of course, but something to keep in mind when making your own purchasing decision.

I honestly wasn't sure about this style phone mount but glad I purchased it. The vent mounts did not work as well as I would have liked due to vertical vents. The weight of the phone (Google Pixel 2) and I would think any smart phone made them eventually slip off. I needed something that would not do this. Although I would have loved a dash mount option within reachable distance it just didn't work for me. I thought the cup holder would be awkward but surprisingly it isn't. Once you adjust to fit the cup holder it is secure and going nowhere even going over bumps, potholes, and uneven surfaces. The flexible neck is a plus as well. The phone sits securely in the cradle and I like that is has room for the charger cord. The adjustable slide feature accommodates any size phone even with a slim or bulky case. It is within easy reach if needed. It does take a little getting used to but honestly not enough to be a bother.

Wow, I was SO EXCITED seeing the email that this was delivered that I went straight to the front porch to find it, open it, assemble it and TRY IT! (I didn't even read the instructions but having just watched the EXCELLENT VIDEO they provide, I am even MORE IMPRESSED with this product and its OEM) Not sure how many of these I have bought and discarded but this one actually FITS my iPhone 11 Pro Max AND ITS CASE.
